Firefox slow browsing because of DTA 1.0 (Downthemall)

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

First things first i know i should have migrated this blog to the other server last week but i will delay the migration probably until everything settle. Ok alright im just too lazy to migrate it! hahahaha….

Ok back to the news! here’s a way to tweak back your browser back to the default setting, i got this from DTA bugzilla.

I found the problem, for some reason this version of DTA changed these settings in your about:config.

network.http.max-connections (32)
network.http.max-connections-per-server (16)
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server (16)

just type in about:config in your address bar, and search for “max” you should see all of these settings with numbers like 204, 102 …. etc. Change them to the above values the problem should be fix.

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

Do you have multiple gmail accounts? or you’re using google apps for your company or personal email? Now you’re having problem because your google notifier only accept one account at a time. Don’t worry i found a solution :)

Procedure:
1. Copy and Paste the Google Notifier in your Application folder.
2. Control Click the second Google Notifier and select “Show Package Contents”.
3. Go to Content folder and open Info.plist
4. search the “CFBundleIdentifier” line below it you’ll see the “com.google.GmailNotifier“, after the word Notifier put any unique word you want.
5. Save it and run the program.

*NOTE: what i did is add my domain after the GmailNotifier line. something like this

com.google.GmailNotifiermydomain.com

:D HTH for everybody thanks for viewing.

Mac OS X 10.4.x Tiger+HP Scanjet 3400c howto: GREATNESS! :D

Friday, August 10th, 2007

UPDATE:

Scanjet 3400cc installation for Mac OS X 10.5.x Leopard howto

This is a mini-howto make your scanjet 3400c works on Mac, many thanks to HP for not making drivers for HP (”Thanks HP for wasting my time!”). Anyway i was hunting for a scanner last week and i got this from my brother’s house which is from my dad’s office. I suddenly had time to install this scanner(for documents sake) or rather i need it that’s why i made time for it, i plug the USB to my old school lappy apple titanium and it did nothing, so i go directly to HP’s website to look for drivers, oh boy how come im not surprise they didn’t create any drivers for Mac. So i search the net and saw this monlog blog from netherlands and saw this article(nope i don’t speak their language there’s babel fish for that). You can read his blog if you want or look at my procedure how to do it.

anyway to make this long story short here’s the howto:

1. Download the ff.
libusb
Sane Backend
Twain Sane

2. install it in the same order too.
3.open your terminal and run this command

scanimage > test.pnm

or for tiff file:

scanimage –format tiff > test.tiff

* if that doesn’t work, you have problem with your $PATH so refer to monlog’s 4th direction.

4. run image capture and load SANE by going to Devices > Browse Devices

Now you’re finished and you can use your scanjet 3400c on Mac Thanks for reading i’ll be here all week :D
